Newborn doll. Massachusetts and Rhode Island newborn photographer creates newborn baby portraits in Warwick RI portrait studio.

I have been dying to share this preview with you. This adorable little girl came to the studio last week and we had so much fun. She took a little time and patience to fall asleep, but once she was out, she was sooooo good to me! Mom gave me free reign to try out some new props. I recently ventured out on a whim to Joanne's during a snow storm. I was ready for spring and itching to shop. I bought this red set up (below), along with all of the new flower headbands and hats I've made lately, and have been dying to use them ever since. I finally got my chance and I love the way the photos turned out. I could have seriously posted every picture from this shoot in the preview. As the icing on the cake, this little cutie smiled during the whole last set up. Check out the giant smile below! Every one from this session is a favorite. I finally had to do eeny, meeny, miny, moe to pick which ones to post. Enjoy your preview mom, can't wait to show you the rest!

The Sweetest Gift! Massachusetts Newborn Baby Portrait Photographer Heidi Hope Photography

I’m on a newborn roll! This tiny peanut was my latest session. I offered to do a few newborn sessions for the “pampering pals” part of the mother’s playgroup I’m in… instead of the usual banana bread drop off… and this was my first. Little D was my tiniest newborn to date, weighing in at only 6 and change. She is an adorable baby girl, who I thought looked exactly like her mommy. It was a dark cloudy day so the light wasn’t ideal, but I think we managed some pretty cute shots. I have to give all the credit to that adorable face. There must be something about me lately though, the last few newborns have been quite a challenge to get to sleep. Luckily I whipped out the heating pad and remembered my baby whispering techniques (that NEVER worked for Giuliana) and after much effort, baby D was finally putty in my hands. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Newborn Portrait Session. Massachusetts Newborn Baby Portrait Photographer

This past Saturday was the newborn session of the adorable little K. We had a bit of a rough start. She was tough to get to sleep... I guess she wanted to stay up for all the action! When she was alert, she really looked right into the lens. After about an hour and a half, she finally drifted off to sleep. Then she was a real dream to work with! She let me pose her to my hearts content. She woke up hungry towards the end. You would never know she is crying in the family shots! Here are a few of my favorites. She is such a sweet girl! Now's the hard part, how will we ever pick which images for the birth announcements??

Newborn Portrait Session. Massachusetts Newborn Baby Portrait Photographer

I'm obviously obsessed. I got four hours of sleep and have a baby shower to get ready for, yet I couldn't help rushing to my laptop with my morning cup of coffee and pouring over the photos from my newborn session yesterday. I don't have time to edit them until tonight, but I have to at least post this one. Can you stand the hat?!?! Mom, I'm ready for more knits!

The whole preview will be up tomorrow if you check back in.

Newborn Session - Massachusetts Newborn Portrait Photography

Yesterday was the Newborn Session for the adorable Sawyer Lashua. With my daughter growing bigger every day (as they all do), there was something magical about holding a tiny, curling, sleepy newborn again. Sawyer was a big boy, born over nine pounds, but still seemed so tiny at only 7 days old. I couldn't believe how well mom, dad, and big brother were all doing. You will see in the sneak preview below how happy everyone in the family is to welcome little Sawyer into their world. I had a great time during this shoot, and as usual, I couldn't get out of Steph's house without being fed. Steph and Sam have been taking care of my tummy since the day we met five years ago!

Check out the cute props. My mom, the very talented knitter, has been working hard on some adorable newborn cocoons and hats for me. Luckily I have lots of newborn sessions coming up so you will be able to see all of her handy work soon!

Being the bad decision maker I am, the cute factor of this baby boy didn't make my job of selecting a sneak preview any easier... so enjoy an extra large one today :0)
