Wow! It has been one busy week! Lot's of new babies born, first birthdays celebrated, and a few little ones still left to visit the studio tomorrow. This job is certainly full of joyful moments! This little man was one of my two first birthdays this week. He was absolutely adorable and my camera loved him. Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

Baby E and his parents came to visit on Saturday and boy did he give me a workout! He was so adventurous, we had to be very creative to catch him on camera! At the end of the session we finally cleared everything out of the middle of the studio and just let him run wild. That's when we got some of the biggest smiles. I can't wait for the warm (and dry!) weather so we can start heading outdoors for these sessions.

This little man came to visit the studio last week and he was awake and ready to party! What do you do with a newborn who won't sleep??? Well, I must say, my mom's beautiful knit cocoons came in handy! Snuggled up inside was pretty much the only place he would sleep outside of his parents' arms. I just adored his sweet little profile and spikey hair. What a cutie!

This little cutie pie came to visit the studio and I didn't want her to leave. She was so sweet and happy. I just love this age! Mom brought lots of props for me to play with. The purple blanket was made by A's grandmother and the little sailor suit is for dad who is a sailor. Thanks for coming to visit yesterday mom. I loved meeting you and A!

You may remember this little man from last April when I went to visit his family. I can't believe it has already been a year! This time the family came to visit me and Baby D celebrated his first birthday in style with a cake smash. I loved seeing you all again and can't wait to show you your whole gallery!

I haven't traveled to a home for newborn portraits in some time and it was so refreshing to get out of the studio and visit this family last week! They had a beautiful nursery with fabulous light, so we set up the whole session right there. Big brother L was so helpful and I just melt over the shots of him and his baby sister. Normally I supply the props, but mom was one step ahead of me and had so many adorable hats and pettiskirts for me to play with when I arrived! It was so much fun to meet you all, enjoy your preview!

This sweet baby girl and her parents came to celebrate St Patrick's Day with us last week at the studio. I was able to get some more adorable garden shots before leaving the green and yellow behind. What color should I plant this week??? Baby N was nice and sleepy for us to play. She was waking up by the shots in the yellow pot, but we managed some with her eyes closed! I had so much fun with the family who came to visit the studio today that I couldn't wait to share their preview with you! Sweet baby M was nice and sleepy and her big sister S was a fabulous model and helper. Toddlers can be very unpredictable in their reactions to their new siblings and often the attention showered on a new baby during a newborn shoot can exaggerate this. At 2 1/2 years old, S was so sweet to her sister, so helpful around the studio, and a total ham for the camera. We did the whole shoot in just two hours! I just adore the portraits we got. This little man was a tough nut to crack! He was very interested in the camera, so he made mom and I work very hard to get a smile. But, smile he did! He's so handsome that it really didn't matter much anyways. He looked adorable no matter what he was doing. Enjoy your preview!

This little man was so good to me yesterday! He ate his way through the shoot, but had a nice heavy sleepy period in the middle for us to have some fun. We were able to breeze through 4 different set ups before he woke up again. My newborns lately have been rocking the chin -in-hands pose and MJ was no different! It was certainly hard to pick for the preview this time.

Another baby's first year client graduates! This little cutie pie has been in front of my lens since she was 3 months old and I can't believe she is already turning a year! We had some fun in the studio for her cake smash session, although she wasn't really digging the cake. By far, she was one of the cleanest one-year-olds that I've met. She was so excited about the cake..... until it got on her finger. Everyone loves a smiley baby shot, but I must admit, my favorite shot of the session is her little serious face below. Her eyes just pierce the lens! She's a beauty!

This little man came into the studio last week and completely stole my heart. I couldn't stop gushing about how adorable he was to his mom. 6 months old is one of my favorite ages to shoot. If you can only splurge on portraits once during babies first year, 6 months old is definitely the time to do it. Thankfully, I will be seeing this little man for two more shoots this year and I already can't wait. Enjoy your preview!
