This weekend was lots of fun as I got to spend my Saturday with four sweet babies at the studio. You may remember this adorable baby girl from her newborn session here. This time the family came down to RI to visit me at the studio and I was so thrilled to see them all again. O is still a little doll baby like the weeks after she was born. Big blue eyes and lots of smiles. I know I say it all of the time, but I just love 6 month olds! Enjoy your preview mom and dad!

This little cutie pie came to visit the studio and I didn't want her to leave. She was so sweet and happy. I just love this age! Mom brought lots of props for me to play with. The purple blanket was made by A's grandmother and the little sailor suit is for dad who is a sailor. Thanks for coming to visit yesterday mom. I loved meeting you and A!

I seriously wanted to share this ENTIRE session as a preview. I could barely contain myself when I was editing. I must have called Shaun over to the computer 10 times to say "Isn't this baby GORGEOUS!" And that was just for the first photo! Baby O was just as sweet as she was beautiful. This little man came into the studio last week and completely stole my heart. I couldn't stop gushing about how adorable he was to his mom. 6 months old is one of my favorite ages to shoot. If you can only splurge on portraits once during babies first year, 6 months old is definitely the time to do it. Thankfully, I will be seeing this little man for two more shoots this year and I already can't wait. Enjoy your preview!

I couldn't wait to share this preview with you. Lots of new favorites from this session. This sweet girl and her parents came down from Boston for a baby session in the studio. Baby E was gorgeous, expressive, and so good natured! She let us dress her up, put her in a flower pot, and all the while she looked right at the camera. I've had a lot of fun photographing babies over the past year. I've collected more props than I know what to do with. Fortunately for my art (but unfortunately for my wallet) I get bored easily and after the rush of Holiday portraits I was ready for something fresh. My Christmas "bonus" this year was to buy a new lens. I went for the 60mm macro and I can't wait to share the results with you! This little man was the perfect baby to try it out on. Mom loves simplicity in photography and that's exactly what I was going for with this lens. Sharp focus and slim depth of field give a creamy background and put all the attention on the simple beauty of a baby's features. Magical. Lucky for me, this baby made my job easy. Mom takes lots of pictures so he wasn't the least bit scared of my lens in his face! He was smiley and easy going the whole shoot. I could get lost in his eyes. Here is preview number two from yesterday's sessions. This baby boy had two front teeth about to break through, but was still as sweet as pie. His big brown eyes sucked me right in. His parents were so completely adoring and loved helping me get some smiles out of a little boy who just wanted to chew chew chew!
