Baby girl A and big brother! Rhode Island and Massachusetts on location newborn portrait photographer creates in home newborn portraits in Boston Ma

I haven't traveled to a home for newborn portraits in some time and it was so refreshing to get out of the studio and visit this family last week! They had a beautiful nursery with fabulous light, so we set up the whole session right there. Big brother L was so helpful and I just melt over the shots of him and his baby sister. Normally I supply the props, but mom was one step ahead of me and had so many adorable hats and pettiskirts for me to play with when I arrived! It was so much fun to meet you all, enjoy your preview!

Cape Cod on location newborn portraits. Rhode island newborn portrait photographer.

I am so excited to share this preview. Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather is perfect (especially for those of us with unruly hair), football is back, you can find pumpkin flavored anything on store shelves, my birthday is in October, and most importantly... there is color everywhere! Everything is more beautiful in autumn's light. Yesterday I had a wonderful time photographing this sweet family in Cape Cod. Mom loved hats so I got to try almost every one out on this little peanut! The end of the session was my favorite as we headed outside to take some photographs in their backyard. The colors were beautiful and it was still warm enough for baby to keep from getting chilly. I can't wait for what the next few months will bring. Enjoy your preview mom and dad!

Wellesley Ma Newborn Portrait Session. Massachusetts and Rhode Island newborn photographer creates on location newborn portraits.

I just had to stay up to get this preview posted, so excuse me if I'm too tired to make any sense. I absolutely adored the baby girl I got to play with today. Normally, her stats would be a recipe for a very tough shoot. 1. she was female, 2. she was born late, 3. she was over two weeks old, 4. she weighed over 8 lbs, 5. she was a frequent nurser. Any one of those things can make for a fiesty newborn, but all of them together?? I thought I was in for a real challenge when I showed up! Thanks to mom and dad, who worked very hard to keep her up all morning, this little angel was an absolute joy to photograph. I could barely choose for a preview because she was such a ham in front of my camera. When I started editing, even the shots I would normally turn black and white, baby O's gorgeous pink skin forced me to keep them color. She was truly a dream boat!!! She almost made me want another one. I said almost! Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

Sweet baby girl. Boston on location newborn portrait session. Newborn portrait photographer Heidi Hope Photography.

Ok, here it is finally! This little sweetheart was an absolute angel to photograph. Definitely one of my easiest newborns to date. Baby B did have a little fiest in her though. She was a jumper and we had to keep a hand close by so that she didn't hop right off the beanbag! She was a tiny little thing and slept for almost all of the shoot. Mom and dad said that she was up most of the night, and while I always feel bad for the parents, I am secretly happy when I hear that because I know we may have better luck with those sleepy newborn shots everyone adores! Mom and dad looked no worse for the wear anyways. This was one gorgeous family. Baby B even gave us some sweet sleepy smiles. My favorite shot is the one where mom, dad, and baby B are all smiling together. Enjoy your preview :0)

Sweet little chickadee. Massachusetts Newborn Portraits by newborn photographer Heidi Guerard. RI newborn baby in home portrait photographer.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting the sweet little baby girl born to a couple you may remember from a few months ago.  Born two weeks late, this little newborn reminded me so much of my own daughter as an infant.  Sweet and happy and sleepy in your arms... until you put her down!!  haha  Baby B just wanted to eat and be held.  Adorable, but certainly a challenge for those sleepy newborn poses (and if I recall, very exhausting for mom and dad).  I feel bad, I must have bored mom and dad with endless stories of G because this little girl brought back so many memories.  To get my newborn shots of G took me 6 hours and lots of nursing.  We were much more lucky with baby B.  With mom and dad's help, we would get her to sleep, gently place her into a pose, jump out of the shot for one second, and snap it before she woke up!  And wake up she always did.  She was actually the first baby AWAKE in my newborn hammock.  I normally would have never attempted that.  It was dads idea to try it and he was right, she loved it!  Mom and dad were so laid back and we did manage to get some amazing shots.  One of my favorites is the one of mom and dad below.  I loved working with this family over the past few months and I remember that feeling on their faces so well.  I'm so happy that I was able to capture it for them.  I also adore the nest shot.  One of my new all time favorites!  Enjoy your preview mom and dad :0)

Newborn Baby C. My teeniest newborn! Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn baby portrait photographer. In home and on-location newborn portraits.

Yesterday I had a double header and was all over the map! My day started off with this adorable newborn baby girl, C. The day was extra special because it was actually Baby C's due date. Baby C made a very early appearance almost 6 weeks ago at just over 4 pounds. She spent a few weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Newton Wellesley Hospital, but was finally home with mom and dad when I came to visit. What a special way to celebrate her homecoming! For our session, C was already over 6 pounds with the most adorable chubby cheeks. She was my teeniest newborn so far, however I must say, she peed and pooped more than any newborn I've ever worked with!!! Me, mom and dad were all completely covered. None of us minded though, because C was such a sweetheart! Enjoy your preview mom and dad, and your sweet little angel :0)

Baby L, 19 days old! Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn baby portrait photographer. In home newborn portraits.

Here is the sneak preview from today's little man.  You might remember mom and dad from here.  He was a bit older than my typical newborns, turning 19 days today.  Usually after 14 days old they start to get much fiestier, and baby L was no exception.  Just when I thought he was really in a deep sleep, he let me know I wasn't getting away with any funny stuff by letting out a loud roar!  We did manage to get a few sleepy shots though, and I think mom and dad will be very pleased.  My favorite part about L was his adorable hair.  I've been lucky with the full manes on my last few newborns.  I think it looks so cute in photographs!  Enjoy your preview mom and dad.
