Newborn baby boy L. Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New England newborn baby portrait photographer creates

Did anyone catch NBC's Today Show yesterday? The two newborn photographers featured have been constant inspiration to me since my beginnings in photographing newborns. If you get a chance, check out the segment and you can see a little bit of what newborn photographers do to catch those teeny newborns sleeping.

This little man ended the streak of not-so-sleepy newborns that have been visiting the studio. Those feisty girls have been giving me a run for my money! I got to end the week with two baby boys full of chubbiness, smiles, and sleep! L was a complete dream boat... the lips, the lashes... photographer's dream! Enjoy your preview mom ;0)

Baby MJ's newborn portraits. Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn baby photographer creates studio newborn portraits.

This little man was so good to me yesterday! He ate his way through the shoot, but had a nice heavy sleepy period in the middle for us to have some fun. We were able to breeze through 4 different set ups before he woke up again. My newborns lately have been rocking the chin -in-hands pose and MJ was no different! It was certainly hard to pick for the preview this time.

Baby M. Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn baby photographer creates natural light studio newborn portraits

Here is the first of my baby previews today! Baby M was so much fun to photograph last week. She had a perfect little doll face and wasn't too feisty once she drifted off to sleep. I just adored capturing her delicate little features. Thanks for coming in mom and Grammie! Enjoy your preview!

My first baby of the year! Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn photographer creates natural light studio newborn baby portraits in Warwick RI

My first newborn of the year visited today. The whole family braved the snow to keep me company in the studio. Mom, dad, big sister (who was a most fabulous model), and even aunty! They were all so much fun to work with. Baby L was only 6 days old, but ate more than any baby I've seen! She was a teeny little girl at under 7 pounds so perhaps she was just trying to catch up to her big sister :0) Even though she ate much more than she slept, we still managed some adorable shots. I had a very hard time choosing for the preview. I have many new favorites from this session. Enjoy your preview family. I can't wait to show you the rest!

The Babies of 2010. Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn baby photographer creates natural light studio maternity and pregnancy portraits

Happy 2010 everyone! I have a really good feeling about this year and it started off wonderfully with the couple who came to the studio yesterday. After a few days off around the holidays, I'm feeling refreshed with new ideas and lots of inspiration. This couple was so fun to work with. They were up for anything and kept me laughing. They didn't mind being crammed up near the windows on a dark and snowy day... or driving down an hour from Boston to get there! I think we got some amazing shots and I absolutely can't wait to meet this sweet baby... due in 3 weeks! I'm off to the studio to meet my first newborn of the year, with many more to come this week. Enjoy your Sunday everyone (and go Pats!)

Sweet baby S. Rhode Island photographer creates studio newborn portraits for south shore massachusetts newborn in RI newborn photography studio

I can't wait to share this preview with you tonight. As if Christmas time weren't magical enough, I am blessed to spend the week leading up to it with a few sweet newborns. Baby S and her parents traveled a long way to the studio today and we had so much fun capturing S's first days of life. She was 10 days old today... a perfect age for newborn portraits. 5-10 days of life is the ideal time to create portraits as baby's are still very sleepy and haven't yet hit their two week growth spurt. Baby S was an absolute dream. Amazing skin, a gorgeous little face (I was seriously tempted to smooch), and she loved to be curled up into the most adorable poses. I've been waiting to try out some new family poses and everyone happily indulged me today. Dad gets the award for what he went through! Thanks so much for coming to play today. I can't wait to show you all the rest!

Here is the full preview of the sweet little girl who appeared just before Thanksgiving. During our session I kept telling her parents how this baby girl has a little doll face. Don't you agree? Perfect little lips and gorgeous lashes. She made my camera very happy. Thanks for coming down to the studio mom and dad. I loved seeing you both again and meeting baby G. Enjoy your preview!

Little Boy Blue. Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn photographer creates fine art newborn portraits in Warwick RI studio

When I photographed this couple back in October, I just knew that this would be one adorable baby with some seriously gorgeous eyes. It's hard to tell on newborns, but I think baby Z's eyes might be staying blue. I was able to get a good look at them as he opened his eyes for so much of the shoot! Normally that can spell trouble for a newborn session, but not with Z. He had great eye control and looked straight into the camera. I had fun seeing mom and dad again and was so happy they came to the studio so we could play with all of my toys. Enjoy your preview!

So many newborns, so little time! Rhode Island newborn baby portrait photography studio

Yesterday I had two newborns back to back. They were both equally adorable but COMPLETELY different sessions! The first little man wanted nothing to do with sleep but his adorable older brother kept my camera very happy. The second little girl could not be woken up! Here is one shot I couldn't wait to get up. Both full previews should be up by Monday so check back in :0)
