Baby J 6 month old baby portrait session. Rhode Island and Massachusetts baby photographer creates 6 month baby portraits in Warwick RI studio

Remember this little doll face?  I last visited this family back in July when baby J was only a few weeks old.  Today the family came to see me for J's 6 month session.  Where does the time go?!  We had so much fun today and I think we got some great shots.  How could we not?  She is seriously cute!  Enjoy your preview and Happy 2010 everyone!  See you in the new year.  4 newborns in the first week!

Christmas baby. Rhode Island and Massachusetts photographer creates newborn baby portraits in Warwick RI baby portrait studio

This sweet baby girl came to visit me just a few days after Christmas this year and what a gift she was! She was 2 weeks old on the day of our shoot so it did take her a little while and a lot of feeding to fall asleep. I'm learning that 6-10 days old is the ideal time to photograph a newborn. Of course it isn't impossible after that, but 2 weekers can certainly be stubborn! Well, once we finally did get this little girl to sleep, she was nothing but sweet! We were able to get lots of adorable shots that I know mom and dad are going to be thrilled with. It was so wonderful meeting you all the other day. Enjoy your preview.

Baby girl D. Rhode Island and Massachusetts newborn photographer creates studio newborn portraits in Warwick RI natural light studio.

My December newborns have been oh so good to me! I loved meeting this little girl and her family yesterday and am excited to share the preview because I have a lot of new favorites from our session. I love photographing newborns more and more every time. While I feel like I could pose a newborn all day on the bean bag, I've been trying to challenge myself with more creative shots off the bag. I'm really happy with the way these turned out. I actually got teary eyed editing the shot of all three of them curled up together! I hope you love them so far mom and dad. I had such fun with you all and can't wait to show you the rest. Have a very merry Christmas with your wonderful gift :0)

Sweet baby S. Rhode Island photographer creates studio newborn portraits for south shore massachusetts newborn in RI newborn photography studio

I can't wait to share this preview with you tonight. As if Christmas time weren't magical enough, I am blessed to spend the week leading up to it with a few sweet newborns. Baby S and her parents traveled a long way to the studio today and we had so much fun capturing S's first days of life. She was 10 days old today... a perfect age for newborn portraits. 5-10 days of life is the ideal time to create portraits as baby's are still very sleepy and haven't yet hit their two week growth spurt. Baby S was an absolute dream. Amazing skin, a gorgeous little face (I was seriously tempted to smooch), and she loved to be curled up into the most adorable poses. I've been waiting to try out some new family poses and everyone happily indulged me today. Dad gets the award for what he went through! Thanks so much for coming to play today. I can't wait to show you all the rest!

Newborn boy, 2 weeks old and wide awake! Massachusetts and rhode island newborn photographer creates newborn portraits in warwick ri newborn studio

This little cutie pie came to visit the studio last week and I had so much fun meeting his family. I could have chatted with mom and dad all day. In fact, that's what we spent most of the session doing! Baby T was 2 weeks old and just hitting his growth spurt. Growth spurt = hungry = not very sleepy! We did manage some curled up sleepy poses after one of his feedings, but luckily baby T was so content that he looks great even when awake. Enjoy your preview mom and dad. Can't wait to show you the rest.

Sweet baby girl 6 months old. Rhode Island and Massachusetts baby photographer creates 6 month baby portraits in Warwick RI natural light studio

I couldn't wait to share this preview with you. Lots of new favorites from this session. This sweet girl and her parents came down from Boston for a baby session in the studio. Baby E was gorgeous, expressive, and so good natured! She let us dress her up, put her in a flower pot, and all the while she looked right at the camera. We were fast friends :0) Enjoy your preview mom and dad. I don't know how I'll ever narrow it down for your gallery. I love them all!

Adorable brothers. Rhode Island and Massachusetts portrait photographer creates sibling portraits in Warwick RI studio

These adorable little guys came to my studio today and I had lots of fun chasing them around. At their ages, I thought they did an amazing job in front of the camera. And, of course, my trusty stickers always help for those last few smiles. We got lots of adorable shots mom and dad. Can't wait to show you your full gallery. Enjoy your sneak preview!

6 month old baby portraits. Rhode Island and Massachusetts baby photographer creates custom baby portraits in warwick ri portrait studio

I've had a lot of fun photographing babies over the past year. I've collected more props than I know what to do with. Fortunately for my art (but unfortunately for my wallet) I get bored easily and after the rush of Holiday portraits I was ready for something fresh. My Christmas "bonus" this year was to buy a new lens. I went for the 60mm macro and I can't wait to share the results with you! This little man was the perfect baby to try it out on. Mom loves simplicity in photography and that's exactly what I was going for with this lens. Sharp focus and slim depth of field give a creamy background and put all the attention on the simple beauty of a baby's features. Magical. Lucky for me, this baby made my job easy. Mom takes lots of pictures so he wasn't the least bit scared of my lens in his face! He was smiley and easy going the whole shoot. I could get lost in his eyes. Thanks for coming into the studio mom and dad. Can't wait to show you the rest. Enjoy!

On location maternity portraits. Twins on their way! Rhode Island and Massachusetts pregnancy photographer creates in home portraits

My second maternity shoot last week was on location. Mom is pregnant with TWINS and on bed rest so I brought my studio to her. Twins! Doesn't she look fabulous?! This shoot was a surprise for dad so hopefully he doesn't frequent my blog :0) She's going to show him the slideshow on Christmas morning.... awwww! I can't wait to hear about his reaction. Enjoy your preview mom. I loved spending time with you the other day and can't wait to meet these boys.

Studio Maternity portraits. Rhode Island pregnancy photographer creates maternity portraits in Warwick RI portrai studio.

I had the pleasure of doing two maternity shoots last week, both of whom I will have the pleasure of doing a newborn shoot for as well. I love meeting a couple and then getting to photograph them again as a family. It is such a magical time! This couple was so laid back and fun. They came down to the studio and we had fun playing with a few different set ups. Mom and dad were both sports fans, and ok, I might have been a little biased when setting up their sports shots :0) At least we all found some common ground with the red sox. Enjoy your preview mom and dad. Can't wait to show you the rest.

Baby boy 6 months portraits. Rhode Island baby photographer creates holiday baby portraits at warwick ri portrait studio.

Remember this little man? How could you forget such an adorable face? I certainly didn't. He is still one of my favorite newborns to date. Well he is now almost 6 months and apparently he got more adorable by the day while he was away from my lens. The whole family traveled down to the studio this weekend and I loved seeing them again. M was full of smiles and my camera loved the whole gorgeous family. Enjoy your preview!
