Sweet baby girl. Boston on location newborn portrait session. Newborn portrait photographer Heidi Hope Photography.

Ok, here it is finally! This little sweetheart was an absolute angel to photograph. Definitely one of my easiest newborns to date. Baby B did have a little fiest in her though. She was a jumper and we had to keep a hand close by so that she didn't hop right off the beanbag! She was a tiny little thing and slept for almost all of the shoot. Mom and dad said that she was up most of the night, and while I always feel bad for the parents, I am secretly happy when I hear that because I know we may have better luck with those sleepy newborn shots everyone adores! Mom and dad looked no worse for the wear anyways. This was one gorgeous family. Baby B even gave us some sweet sleepy smiles. My favorite shot is the one where mom, dad, and baby B are all smiling together. Enjoy your preview :0)

Blue eyed boy! 6 month old baby portrait session. Rhode Island and Massachusetts baby photographer.

I have two previews that are sure to make you smile on this cold and rainy morning. Yesterday I traveled to the Boston area for two wonderful shoots. The first session was in the south shore where I had the pleasure of playing with this sweet boy and his mommy for a few hours. This little boy has some of the most fantastic blue eyes I've ever photographed! He was already on the move, starting to crawl and sitting up on his own. He was very interested in the camera. Just when we had him smiling and laughing, I would pick my camera up and he would stop everything and stare right into it! I did manage to sneak some smiles in though mom. I think we ended up with some adorable shots! Enjoy your preview.

Sweet baby girl R, 6 month old session. Rhode Island baby photographer taking on locaiton baby portraits in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Baby R and her parents. The shoot flew by as all three of them were such a joy to work with! Baby R had such a sweet demeanor. I kept asking mom and dad, "Is she always like this?!" She was full of smiles and loved to sing and play. Her big brown eyes (with the most amazing lashes by the way) completely stole my heart. Enjoy your preview mom and dad!

The Reviews Are In! Rhode Island and Massachusetts portrait photographer Heidi Hope Photography

I'm working on a new "Raves" section for my site and the reviews are making their way to my inbox. Thank you everyone for all of your kind words! They have really touched my heart and are definitely getting me through these last few crazy weeks of summer.

Here are a few in so far!

"Heidi took our maternity and newborn photos, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Not only were our pictures beautiful and memories we’ll now have forever, but it was such a pleasure working with her and a treat to have her shoot at our house. As the parents of a 4-day-old and feeling overwhelmed, Heidi helped us relax and have a fun afternoon in the comfort of our home; I don’t think we could have had such a great time with any other photographer, and I know a studio would have been so impersonal. We especially have to thank her for being so patient and fun despite our little one being so uncooperative! Besides the amazing and creative photographs she took, she also completely designed our birth announcements which turned out to be beautiful pieces of art and exceeded our expectations. Of course we hope to work with Heidi again, and I will definitely recommend her to all of our friends. Thanks, Heidi!"

My experience with Heidi Hope Photography was absolutely wonderful. Heidi is very personal yet professional. Heidi takes the time to get to know her clients in order to give them the best photo session possible! Heidi gets amazing shots! I will definitely be using Heidi Hope Photography again!!!"

"Heidi is an amazing photographer!!! The package I purchased will allow three sets of photo sessions. I've only done the first one, but so far I am ecstatic over her work. Heidi's shots are non-traditional which I loved! The pictures were incredible. I was so pleased with everything about them. Heidi is also open to your ideas which I loved. I was able to have her get some shots that I had envisioned. She was also fantastic with my daughter. She has a great deal of patience and made the session a lot of fun for all of us. I am really looking forward to working with her over the next year."

"We use to dread taking our daughter to get her pictures taken because all she did was cry. So, for her 15 month pictures we decided to use Heidi Hope Photography. Our daughter played and ran and smelled the flowers. Heidi captured every priceless moment. The result was the most amazing pictures that we can now cherish for a lifetime. Heidi is amazing with kids, patient and her attention to detail is incredible. You can actually see our daughters personality in the portraits. We can't wait to work with Heidi again in the future."

"Heidi Hope Photography is absolutely AMAZING! The entire atmosphere of the day was fun & carefree. My kids played and interacted with each other and Heidi captured every adorable moment from start to finish. Her attention to detail and ability to find that un-scripted shot is incredible. She truly captured our childrens' personalities. It was an amazing experience that I will treasure always!"

First Birthday Cake Smash portrait session... minus the "smash". Rhode Island and Massachusetts photographer taking on location baby portraits

My week ended on a fun note when I was able to meet this little birthday boy and his family! I arrived on an extremely hot and very humid Friday morning with a beautiful birthday cake and lots of energy. S, like most 1 year olds, took a few minutes to warm up to the camera but was crawling around and playing in no time. He even held up in the extreme heat and after all his hard work I captured him splashing around in his kiddie pool. The only thing we didn't get was a great smashing of the beautiful cake. Tiffany, my cake designer, will be happy to know that it survived in one piece. S wanted no part of smashing it! He did find his bib delicious though as you will see below. Either way, we ended up with some adorable portraits! Enjoy your preview mom and dad.

Engagement portraits on Scarborough beach Rhode Island. Rhode Island engagement photographer Heidi Hope Photography

I just love photographing people who are in love.  And static subjects?  Subjects who not only stay in one spot, but can also heed instructions?!?!  Last night's engagement shoot was so much fun.  As you all know, I am totally baby crazy, but once in a while it is so refreshing to shoot adults.  It allows me to be so much more creative with my images.  It brings me back to my fine art roots as I feel like I am composing (or at least have time to compose) a painting of sorts.  I suppose that is what I would most like my photographs to be; paintings created with light.  This is one huge preview and sure to be one huge gallery.  Thanks for being so fun to work with... enjoy your preview!

3 month old portraits. Baby's First Year. Rhode Island and Massachusetts baby photographer, in home baby portraits.

Here is the preview from my first shoot yesterday. This adorable 3 month old girl and her mommy were so much fun to visit and play with. A was so sweet in front of the camera. I can't wait to come back and visit in 3 months. We got some adorable shots! Enjoy your preview!

Sibling portraits. Rhode Island children and baby photographer Heidi Hope Photography

I'm about to run out the door for a sunset engagement shoot on the beach, but I had to post this preview of yesterday's cutie pies! I had a lot of fun photographing this brother and sister. B and I became fast friends and she had so much personality... my camera loved her! Enjoy your preview mom and dad :0)

Pettiskirt portrait shoot. On location children's portraits. Rhode Island children's photographer.

I have to keep up with my posts this week so I just had to crank this one out tonight before bed.  Two more weeks of craziness and then everyone is back in school and things finally slow down so that I can breathe again!  I had so much fun doing this shoot today.  It was an hour of 90 degree running around that truly flew by.  I had scheduled this shoot for last May and after having to cancel it, we just finally were able to get everyone together for it again.  The adorable pettiskirts are from Miss Things Boutique who partnered with me for these shots!  I also had to get some portraits of the boys because, how cute is this family?!  Thanks moms for all your help and hard work.  Loved seeing you all again.  Enjoy your preview :0) There are SO many more to come!
